The Westchester Aviation Association has partnered with Tradewind Aviation and Academy of Aviation in awarding two aviation scholarships in the amount of $6,000 and $5,000 respectively. In addition to these scholarships, WAA will also be awarding its own scholarship in the amount of $5,000 to support individuals pursuing careers in aviation. These scholarships will be issued as credit to be used toward ground school and/or flight training at the Academy of Aviation located at the Westchester County Airport.The credit must be used within one year of receiving the awarded amount.

Scholarship Award will be presented in person at the Westchester Aviation Association’s Safety Day, June 3rd 2025.

To apply for the Bill Weaver Aviation Scholarship, the applicant must:

✓ Be at least 16 years old.

✓ Submit a letter of recommendation from a teacher, colleague, employer, organizational leader, etc.

✓ Submit a short essay as applicable to include: academic history, career background, extracurricular activities, volunteer work, and personal information (name, address, telephone number, and email address).

✓ Submit up to a 5-minute video to include: aviation background and future goals, 5-year personal/professional growth plan, how this scholarship will aid in helping you achieve your objective and financial needs.

✓ Not be currently enrolled in a flight program at Academy of Aviation.
